Early Accounting Critiques

In 1976, Baruch Lev published Financial Statement Analysis: A New Approach. Decades later, in 1999, Bart Madden introduced more practical solutions in CFROI Valuation. Both works highlight how traditional accounting falls short for investors. Despite becoming more detailed and complex than in the early 20th century, information from annual reports has become less valuable to investors.

From Consulting to Modeling

Deutsche Bank developed the CROCI model, led by Pascal Costantini. Credit Suisse created the HOLT framework under Bob Hendricks. Bryant Matthews joined HOLT in 1999 and later became HOLT Global Head of Research.

Incorporating Technology

Jordan Alloun joined VIA AM in 2015 later becoming Head of Research. He acquired CROCI-based expertise and know-how, integrated advanced technologies, and made major model improvements, vastly expanding both coverage and analyst capacity.

Normalization 3.0

Over three years of R&D were dedicated to consolidating our model into a unique Python framework. This enables AI (NLP), iterative adjustments, and reliable Point-in-Time testing, allowing us to demonstrate its statistical impact effectively.
